Chapter: 47, A New Scandal on the Wedding Night

Chapter: A New Scandal on the Wedding Night

The wedding celebrations had barely ended when chaos erupted.

After fainting during the reception, Zainab was rushed to the hospital. The Roy family followed in shock.

The atmosphere that had been filled with wedding songs and blessings was now heavy with uncertainty.

---

At The Hospital

After several tests, the doctors confirmed what everyone feared.

Zainab was pregnant.

Vedant sat frozen in the corridor.

His mind refused to process the news.

A few hours later, Zainab regained consciousness.

The moment the doctors left, Vedant shut the door and confronted her.

"What have you done?"

Zainab looked confused.

"What do you mean?"

"You were taking pills!" Vedant shouted. "Why did this happen?"

Zainab sat up slowly.

"I missed them."

"What?"

"The last few weeks were difficult. Mom went to jail. Everything was falling apart. I was stressed. I forgot to take them regularly."

Vedant ran his hand through his hair in frustration.

"Zainab, you need to terminate this pregnancy."

Zainab stared at him.

"What?"

"I cannot become a father right now."

The room fell silent.

Vedant continued,

"I am still studying. I haven't even completed my BBA. I want to do an MBA. I want a career. I want to build myself."

Zainab's eyes widened.

"You want me to abort our child?"

"Yes."

The answer came immediately.

---

Zainab's Anger

Zainab's voice rose.

"Your sister is almost my age and she just got married!"

Vedant immediately snapped.

"Don't compare the situations."

He stood up.

"Abhina and Hrittik married after everything I did to ruin her life. I defamed her. I destroyed her reputation. She needed stability and protection."

He paused.

"Hrittik is an established businessman. He can support her studies and her future."

Vedant laughed bitterly.

"And me?"

He pointed toward himself.

"I barely passed first year."

Zainab looked away.

"I got forty percent. Forty!"

The humiliation was visible on his face.

"I have no job. No income. No business. Nothing."

---

Hidden Motives

Inside her mind, however, Zainab was thinking something completely different.

I purposely missed those pills.

The situation was changing.

If Vedant becomes Abhinav Roy's favorite son again, his future inheritance will become huge.

If I become the mother of his child, nobody can remove me.

Marriage first. Property later.

A faint smile almost appeared on her face before she hid it.

Then she started crying dramatically.

"Vedant, I love you."

She grabbed his hand.

"Please accept our child."

Vedant pulled his hand away.

"No."

---

Outside The Room

Meanwhile, outside the hospital room, the Roy family was discussing the situation.

Mareena looked worried.

"Who is the father?"

Abhinav sighed.

"I think it's Vedant."

Everyone looked at him.

He continued,

"They were very close during the last few months. They attended parties together. They spent time together. I should have paid more attention."

His voice filled with regret.

"I thought she was a decent girl from your family."

Mareena looked away uncomfortably.

Abhinav's eyes softened.

"I was so occupied with repairing my relationship with you, Mareena, that I ignored everything else."

---

Abhina Speaks

Abhina remained quiet for a while.

Then she spoke.

"Once I saw them kissing in the college washroom."

Everyone turned toward her.

"I never told anyone because I didn't want more drama."

Mareena looked shocked.

Abhina continued,

"I think they were physically involved."

Then she sighed.

"But honestly, I think she should terminate the pregnancy."

The room became silent.

"Vedant is still a student."

---

Hrittik's Suspicion

Hrittik folded his arms.

"I'm not convinced."

Everyone looked at him.

"What do you mean?" asked Abhinav.

Hrittik replied,

"Considering everything Ekta and Zainab have done, we shouldn't blindly trust anything."

Mareena nodded slowly.

"You're saying she might be lying?"

"I'm saying we should verify everything."

He looked toward Zainab's room.

"The pregnancy may be real."

"The father may not necessarily be Vedant."

The statement shocked everyone.

Abhina thought for a moment.

"The doctor confirmed she's genuinely pregnant."

"Yes," Hrittik replied.

"But that doesn't automatically prove who the father is."

Abhinav looked troubled.

The possibility had never crossed his mind.

---

The Declaration

A few hours later, Zainab came out of the room.

Everyone gathered around.

Without hesitation she announced,

"The father is Vedant."

The corridor exploded with reactions.

Vedant looked exhausted.

Abhinav tried to reason with her.

"Think carefully about your future."

Mareena added,

"You're both students."

But Zainab refused.

"No."

Vedant grew increasingly frustrated.

Zainab folded her arms.

"If anyone forces me to terminate the pregnancy, I'll go to the police."

The threat silenced everyone.

---

Return To Roy Mansion

By the time everyone returned to Roy Mansion, it was nearly two in the morning.

The wedding decorations were still glowing.

The flowers still smelled fresh.

Yet the mood was completely different from a few hours earlier.

Abhina and Hrittik had imagined spending their wedding night celebrating with family.

Instead, everyone was discussing another scandal.

Tonight was their traditional Bengali bashor raat.

Friends and relatives gathered in the decorated hall, singing songs and teasing the newly married couple to keep them awake through the night.

Abhina sat beside Hrittik in her bridal attire.

Her jewelry jingled softly whenever she moved.

For a brief moment she looked at him.

"Sorry."

Hrittik smiled gently.

"For what?"

"My wedding seems to attract disasters."

That made him laugh.

"No."

He looked at her warmly.

"Your wedding survived every disaster."

Abhina smiled.

For the first time since the hospital, she relaxed.

Across the hall, however, Vedant sat alone.

His head lowered.

His future uncertain.

And upstairs in a guest room, Zainab quietly placed a hand on her stomach.

A mysterious smile appeared on her face.

Because whether it was love, ambition, revenge, or greed...

the game was far from over.
