The car stopped outside the house.

Hrithik stepped out first and opened the door for Abhina. She was still shaken, her eyes red from crying.

As they entered, Mareena rushed forward, her face filled with worry.

“Abhina! What happened? Why are you crying?” she asked, holding her daughter’s face.

Before Abhina could say anything, Hrithik intervened calmly.

“Nothing serious, di,” he said. “She and her friends were at a restaurant… some goons created trouble there. I reached on time and brought her safely.”

Mareena’s expression turned tense.

“See? This is why I tell you not to roam outside at night without supervision,” she said firmly to Abhina.

Abhina nodded silently.

“Thank you, Hrithik uncle,” she said softly, her voice filled with genuine gratitude.

Hrittik was feeling awkward the way she said uncle. Abhina noticed it and added,"Sorry Hrittik Da".(Da means elder brother)

Hrithik simply gave a small nod.

That night, fear didn’t let Abhina sleep alone.

She quietly went to Mareena’s room and lay beside her, holding onto her like a child.

Mareena stroked her hair gently until she fell asleep.

Even after closing her eyes, the memories of the night haunted her.

Later, in the darkness of her room, Abhina picked up her phone.

She hesitated for a second.

Then typed—

“Thank you ❤️”

—and sent it to Hrithik.

Across the city, Hrithik’s phone lit up.

He read the message.

His eyes stopped at the red heart.

For a moment, a faint smile appeared on his face.

But then he shook his head slightly.

Maybe she sent it casually… he thought.

Still… that one message stayed with him the entire night.

Sleep didn’t come easily.

His thoughts kept returning to her.

For the next few days, Abhina didn’t go to college.

She avoided everything.

Avoided questions.

Avoided memories.

Avoided vedant.

When she finally returned—

The campus felt different.

As she walked through the corridor, her steps slowed.

And then she saw him.

Vedant.

He was already looking at her.

He walked toward her.

“Abhina—”

“I don’t want to talk to you,” she said immediately, turning away.

Vedant stepped in front of her.

“Please listen to me,” he said. “I was wrongfully held at the police station. I’m not into drugs.”

Abhina looked at him sharply.

Abhina said,"Firstly you called me in that filthy club secondly I was on the verge of getting raped".

Vedant says,"I'm sorry i feel you but Abhina if I'm a real criminal then why did i get the bail easily."

Abhina was in her thoughts.

Vedant added,"They mistook me as another Vedant. "

Flashback

That same night.

Inside the police station—

A man in his mid-50s entered quietly.

His presence commanded authority.

He spoke briefly with the officers… and slipped money across the table.

Within minutes—

“Release him.”

Vedant walked out.

Free.

Present

Abhina stared at him, lost in thought.

But then her expression hardened again.

“Even if you’re not a criminal…” she said slowly,
“you didn’t come back to save me.”

Vedant’s face fell.

“I’m sorry,” he said quietly.

Abhina’s voice trembled.

“Your friends… they were going to—”

She couldn’t finish.

Tears filled her eyes.

Vedant stepped closer and gently wiped her tears.

“I’ve broken all ties with them,” he said softly. “Trust me.”

For a moment, silence hung between them.

Then suddenly—

Vedant stepped back…

And went down on his knees.

He held out a rose.

“I love you, Abhina,” he said, looking straight into her eyes.
“Will you be with me?”

Time seemed to freeze.

Abhina stood there, stunned.

Her heart raced.

Her mind was filled with confusion—

Fear from that night.

Anger at him.

Gratitude toward Hrithik.

And now…
